John Fijol VP of Components Technology

Dr. Fijol brings 10 years of industrial experience in design, development and manufacturing of electro-optical and micro-optical components. Prior to joining Confluent, Dr. Fijol worked as a senior member of the Microphotonics Technology Center at Standard MEMS, developing MOEMS based micro-mirror beam steering components for telecommunications applications. Other research and manufacturing experience includes liquid crystal optical phased arrays for commercial and military applications, micro-machined electron multipliers for scientific instrumentation and image intensification systems, and II-VI semiconductor components. Dr. Fijol holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida.
